Dog’s Day Inn Pet Resorts’ pet training in Atascocita, Cypress, Katy, and Kingwood facilities has a 14-day course program.
- Your dog gets to stay in a 4 x 6 indoor/outdoor suite, or you have the option of selecting a suite of a different size for an additional fee.
- Familiar toys and/or bedding for your dog are welcome.
- To keep your pet on his or her diet and feeding schedule, we recommend you bring your own food.
- The trainer will work one-on-one with your dog every day for 14 days using five basic directives (sit, stay, down, heel, come), all of which are verbal and hand signals with positive praise reward.
No ‘treat” training or electronic devises are used during the training process. All directives are trained “on lead”, using a chain collar and leather leash. In addition to the time spent with the trainer, your pet will have scheduled play times outside in one of our spacious yards where they can run around and just be a dog.
The staff will reinforce all directives being trained during your dog’s stay. At the end of the course, the trainer will arrange an appointment for you and any family members to arrive at our facility for the dismissal. At this time, the trainer will demonstrate all of the hand and verbal directives he has taught your pet, then he will place you and each family member with the dog and teach you the directives. When he is assured everyone understands and is in control of the dog and the dog is responding positively, he will dismiss your dog from the program.
This is a GUARANTEED dog training program.
If your pet is having behavioral or housebreaking problems, those issues can be discussed with the trainer when you check in. Although correcting behavioral problems will not be included in the guarantee, the trainer will be able to give you information on correcting those problems once your pet has completed the dog training program.
If at anytime after graduating your pet refuses to obey the directives, you may call the trainer and arrange a time convenient to you at our facility to correct the problem.
