The Five Essentials of a Stress-Free Stay

There are five essential tenets we keep at the center of our pet boarding services:

-Pets need to be free from fear and distress.

When your pet stays with us, they are assigned a caregiver who spends one-on-one time with them daily. Additionally, if your dog or cat begins to show signs of stress, their caretaker will calm them with love and attention.

-Pets should be free to express natural behaviors.

The collection of toys and activities we have creates an environment where a dog or cat can use their natural instincts. For a Labrador Retriever, this might mean taking a swim in our full-size pool. For a cat, this could mean stalking a toy mouse while enjoying a run-up-the-cat climber.

-Cats and dogs need to be free of injury, pain, and disease.

One way we prevent the spread of disease in our facility is proof of vaccinations we require for every dog and cat. Additionally, we have close-circuit security cameras throughout our facility, and these are consistently monitored 24/7.

At Dog’s Day Inn, your dog will never be outside without the supervision of a staff member. Furthermore, staff members regularly check the six-foot fencing that surrounds our outdoor spaces for holes and damage.

-Pets must be free from hunger and thirst.

Regular meals are a part of any dog’s routine, but we know that treats are just as important. We make our canine visitors feel welcome by filling a kong ball with peanut butter and letting them go to town!

-Each of our guests needs a piece of home.

We encourage pet owners to bring their dog or cat’s favorite toy, bed, or blanket so that they have a familiar-smelling item while away from home.

Training

Obedience training is one of the most important aspects of dog ownership. This is why we offer a convenient two-week training program.

For the duration of this board-and-train program, your dog will stay at our facility. Each day, they will work one-on-one with a trainer. By the time the program is complete, they will know five basic commands: sit, down, stay, come, and heel.

Your trainer will take the time to make sure you are comfortable giving your dog commands and knowing the proper way to do so. Additionally, we encourage every client to continue their dog’s training post-program.

The best way to make sure their training sticks is to practice with them every day. After a time, you will also begin to notice that regular training sessions have strengthened your bond with your dog!

Grooming

Dog’s Day Inn is proud to offer professional grooming services. Our groomers have the tools and knowledge to give your dog a fantastic haircut. Additionally, they are familiar with the unique grooming requirements for specific breeds.

Before you bring your dog in for an appointment, you will have the opportunity to meet with your dog’s groomer and give them specific instructions regarding your dog’s routine.
